Manholes and inlets

The manhole is the drainage or sewerage fitting. It’s used for connection of the drainage or sewerage systems and (or) change of direction of the drainage or sewerage pipelines that terminates at ground level with minimal internal diameter of 800 mm. They can be ranged into end, direct, angular, confluence, gradient and universal types. Manholes for all maintenance works with personnel entry must have DN/ID 1000 or greater. The manholes for introduction of the cleaning device, checking and testing device with possibility of the occasional entry of the attached person must have DN/ID from 800 up to DN/ID 1000.

Inspection chamber is the drainage or sewerage fitting. It’s used for connection of the drainage or sewerage systems and (or) change of direction  of the drainage or sewerage pipelines that terminates at ground level with minimal external diameter of 200 mm and internal diameter smaller than 800 mm. It serves as check and washing out shaft for inspection of the system. Termination at ground level allows introduction of the cleaning, checking and testing device and removal of debris, but it doesn’t allow personnel entry. They can be ranged into end, direct, angular, confluence, gradient and universal types. The inspection shafts installed into public areas and roads should be equipped by the concrete distribution thimble and cast iron cover in accordance with the traffic load. 

The inlets must be equipped in accordance with the traffic load classification also by the cast iron grating and the concrete distribution thimble. 

Rain inlet is the intake at the sewerage net and it serves for collection of the rain water from the surface discharge from the roads and other public areas and for its discharge into sewerage net.

Collection inlet serves for discharge of the excessive underground waters.

Shape and execution 

The manholes and inspection chambers can undergo assembly on the spot from various components but they can be made also as the individual item. They consist every time from the functional parts as follows:

  • bottom ( every time present) is made as individual component produced by technology  of rotational moulding from PE- material, welding from PVC-U pipes, covering injection moulded parts and boards with the additional material- PVC-U wire or welding on from PE parts with the additional material – PE wire. Inlets, inflows and outlets from the shafts can be after design of the shafts bottom executed from diameter DN/OD 110 mm, ev. after agreement.
  • body (in dependence of depth) consists of the PVC-U K (corrugated) pipe of the relevant diameter joint with the bottom (cone) by elastomeric sealing, placed in the first groove of the corrugated pipe. The shaft body can in accordance with the particular requirements cover connections from diameter DN/OD 110 mm.
  • telescopic part (in dependence of design) consists of the telescopic PVC-U smooth pipe of relevant diameter, elastomeric sealing and pre- assembled cover in accordance with required traffic load.
  • cone (for manholes DN/ID 1000 mm) is made by technology of rotational moulding from PE material. Instead of the PE cone can be applied concrete superstructure with the reducing centering.
  • concrete distributing thimble is the surface component, usually used in areas with traffic load that secures distribution of traffic load into surrounding ground and eliminates by this way transfer of load to shaft.
  • ladder ( in manholes) is made of PVC-U fully walled smooth pipe DN/OD 400x9,8, installed in the internal part of shaft and fixed through weld. Distance and width of steps must meet valid standard. All sharp edges of the ladder must be rounded.
  • removable cover frame- removable cover made for tempered cast iron, the inspection shafts can apply PE cover by installation of shafts in non public areas.
